“Tangled in Dream” is the second album from the Australian based band called Vanishing Point.
The guys are very talented but among the 6 horsemen there is one person that is sticking out from the rest: Silvio Massaro, the vocalist. The Gods bless his voice! Sometimes it is powerful but mostly anxious though always strong and emotional. His vocal melodies and the guitar and keyboard harmonies blend in perfectly together and create a unique sonorous.
“Tangled...” is not much different from the debut, “In Thought”. The big divergence is the production, which now is much better. Especially the keyboards have gained some more room. And now the levels are almost perfect. Like Silvios’ voice the music never really fades even in the mellower parts.
This album is all through strong!
“Vanishing Points music is actually quite similar to pop music at times, but when the double bass starts to pound there is no hesitation about it being metal or not. There are catchy lyrics, there are memorable refrains and there is a nice artwork. For me it doesn’t matter what mood I am in. Vanishing Point is perfect at every moment.
Because of me not being very well acquainted in progressive music I can’t really give you any comparisons to other bands. But if you’re in to well-played, easy-listened music with much warmth and melodies presented by very good musicians that don’t overdo their work, then Vanishing Point should be in your collection. My stereo and “Tangled in Dream” live in an extraordinary symbiosis very few records have done. “I WILL NEVER WALK AWAY”
