REVIEW: Vehemence 6.2 - Skleros (Fourth Edition) Self-financed, 2002
5.5/10
Vehemence 6.2 - Skleros (Fourth Edition) - cover art I am usually not listening very much to industrial noise but this time I didn't have much of a choice really since I was set to review this album from Vehemence 6.2, a solo project from a young man named Kevin Schlueter from O'Fallon, Missouri. He has been working on this project since 1999 when he was merely fifteen years old and now he feels that the time is right to unleash the fourth edition of his Skleros project. Even though this album is completely based on electronic compositions there are some eery samples here that remind me of both grindcore but also the grimmest of black metal. This is the strange kind of mental hallucinations you get from listening to this kind of insane noise. There are also some references to classical music although the industrial sampling is definitely the most important ingredience of the extreme machinery that is now known as Vehemence 6.2. Spoken passages, hammering rhythms and an overall somber and apocalyptic atmosphere is what this album is all about. If this is your urge in life then you will probably want to check it out but it doesn't really fit my personality I guess.
