REVIEW: Vermin - Filthy F***ing Vermin No Fashion Records, 2000
7.5/10
Vermin - Filthy F***ing Vermin - cover art Vermin is a Swedish heavy metal band formed in the autumn of 1991 and this is their fourth full-length album. The music is very technical and melodic metal with some progressive elements. The only thing I find a little annoying with this band is the Danzigish vocals which I´m not that fond of. This is a real pity since the music is really great. Some people probably like these vocals and they will most likely come to love the groovy beats of Vermin. The rest of us will have to get used to them and try to enjoy the music behind since it is not bad in any thinkable way. This is a fast, aggressive album with constant musical metamorphosis and lots of melodic riffing. I would say the music is very death metal like (the old Swedish school) with only the growling vocals missing. Don´t count on one calm, slow minute while listening to the energetic Filthy F***ing Vermin. The album was recorded at Sunlight Studios in the year 2000 and was produced by Tomas Skogsberg and Jocke Pettersson.
