REVIEW: Visceral Damage - The Feast Of Flesh Self-financed, 2003
6.5/10
Visceral Damage - The Feast Of Flesh - cover art With a few exceptions the Spanish label Xtreem Music is all about brutal death metal but although they have limited themselves quite a lot musically they manage to sign bands who do not sound the same. The Spanish band Visceral Damage is one of the latest signings of the label and with the band name in mind and a few song titles like "Masturbation Party" and "Maggots Under Skin" I don't think you will need many guesses to establish which genre they belong to. Following a rather redundant intro the true nature of the band reveals itself without holding back. Inbetween furious drumming, soaring guitars and deep grunts you will find little, if any, time to rest as Visceral Damage are rushing through these five tracks (six influding the intro) with brutality, speed and aggression as their guiding lights. Not really unique in any way but worth looking into if brutal death metal is what you crave for because it is tight, fast and, most important, well played. Their debut album will be released on Xtreem Music next year (2004). Meanwhile let's feast upon the flesh.
