REVIEW: Vision Divine - Send Me An Angel Atrheia Records, 2002
7.5/10
Vision Divine - Send Me An Angel - cover art Vision Divine is as you probably all know by now the band that Fabio Lione (or Tordiglione as his real last name is) formed to be able to have a solo project outside Rhapsody where Luca Turilli rules. I liked their self-titled debut album from 1999 very much, mostly thanks to the wonderful choruses and vocals from Fabio but also some beautiful keyboard melodies and a cover of Europe's "The Final Countdown" (sorry, but as a Swede you have to like that song...). I did however also find some bad things about that album. The thing that bothered me the most was that some of the keyboards sounded pretty weird and this is also the case with this album. This time the band has put more effort into the guitars than the keyboards though and this results in a heavier album but also an album that lacks some of the things that made me enjoy their debut album as much as I did. I do like this album as well but it doesn't really surpass their first effort. Vision Divine is still a spiritually charged band and with song titles such as "Send Me An Angel" and "Black & White" they are sure to scare away a horde of darker metal souls but I don't think that bothers them too much. This is yet another very good album from these passionate Italians but as I've already mentioned once I liked their first one a little better. Fabio still impresses with his voice though. Stand-out tracks: "Send Me An Angel", "Black & White", "Nemesis".
