REVIEW: Viu Drakh - Take No Prisoners, Grind Them All And Leave This Hell Moonstorm Records, 2000
6/10
Viu Drakh - Take No Prisoners, Grind Them All And Leave This Hell - cover art Viu Drakh is a German band that many of you probably haven´t even heard of yet. However, they have done more than 250 shows, most of them in Germany but some also in other European countries like Italy, Belgium and the Czech Republic. These four guys perform aggressive grinding death metal with high technical skills. Their sound is somewhat reminiscent of the old Terrorizer but with even more speed and aggressiveness. You will not find many calm moments with this cd in your stereo, except for maybe the ninth track, but instead you will find almost 40 minutes of playful grindcore and death metal with tight guitarwork. The weak spots of this album might be the production, which could have been a little better, and the vocals that could be a little bit more varied in my opinion. There is a risk that this album will become a little boring after a number of tracks but if you want some extra aggression, speed and grind to get away from the power metal bands we are being fed day in and day out this band might be a good choice. Absolutely a must for Terrorizer fans.
