After two albums for the native label Sleaszy Rider Records, Greece's Wastefall have now signed an international deal with American progressive epicures Sensory Records. The early history of this young and talented act is quite remarkable. Less than six months after having formed they were offered a record contract which was duly signed. Apparently it was obvious right from the start that this was to become something out of the ordinary and I am inclined to agree with. The carefully selected ingredients that make for a winning recipe are many and varied, embracing elements from both metal and non-metal genres. The songs are highly technical and delightfully unpredictable, marking out the band's emphasis on progressively minded song writing. At times chaotic, at times very melodic, they easily step from one extreme to another without disturbing the natural flow of the song. The clean and passionate vocals from Domenic Papaemmanouil are very well done and he has quite a personal singing style. Solid progressive metal that should be appreciated by fans of bands like Opeth and Porcupine Tree.
