REVIEW: Watchmaker - Kill.Fucking.Everyone Earache Records, 2005
7.5/10
Watchmaker - Kill.Fucking.Everyone - cover art Is Watchmaker's sophomore album able to top their debut which made Terrorizer Magazine name them one of the best bands of 2002? Well, in my book the answer is yes as I did not quite get what they were trying to do last time. Either I have grown tired of Gothenburg copycats and Dimmu Borgir keyboard tinkling or I am not simply able to appreciate the geniality of this band. Once again they have made an album as warm and welcoming as the album title implies. Rage, violence, chaos and destruction is what Watchmaker is all about, this time in an even tighter and more mature guise than last time. Sick and twisted grindcore that will make Carcass look like wimps and with vocals that makes Mayhem's Maniac appear as a cute kitten. Maybe I exaggerate slightly but you catch the drift I hope. Watchmaker will not be able to outshine legends such as Napalm Death or Carcass but they have made a serious effort to carve out their own crazy niche from the grey cement that is our modern society. Buy this and you will have a blast or regurgitate your last couple of meals if you're one of the weaker kind. I dare you. It's not just a line of words, Watchmaker kills. Everything in their way. That is a fact. The end.
