Weapon 13 features Bob Savage, Gary Monardo, and John Tabares who are former members of thrash metallers Hirax. Right off the start you can sense the old school crossover influence. It brings you back to a time when punk was evolving along with metal. This demo has that mid 80’s vibe to it. With hardcore and thrash as the main musical focus. Also along for the ride is Ex-Wargod vocalist Rob Perkins. Who does a decent job with his vocals. The guitar solo’s fit in with the style of the music, it’s just the drums that need to make a bigger impact. I’d like to hear a studio recording from these guys, because with this demo I find it hard to get the full effect from the production. But it’s cool to revisit a time when metal was first injected by hardcore punk rock.
