Ok, how about schizophrenia? Web Of Wyrd is a very complex “project” hailing from Fagersta in Sweden. The band consists of Anders Gustafsson who mainly plays the guitar and Morgan Sundell who is the main vocalist. Besides that they both play all instruments except for the drums which are played by machine. In the attached information they present their music as “Pagan Metal Theatre” and that is quite much what it’s all about. But add “black” to it and I think it would be more correct. Band names that early came to mind while listening are Cradle of Filth and Therion, and they still stand as main influences throughout the whole record, in my opinion.
The sound is not really unique but it’s still very interesting. And in the (long!) songs there are many pace and style changes so it’s never boring. In one song they might go from black to folk/opera, thrash and power metal and that in a very skillful way. In all both guys are very skilled musicians and maybe you must be a bit of a musician yourself to not think of the changes like disorganized jamming. But if you learn to appreciate it Web Of Wyrd might be a band that is as interesting for you as it is to me. What is positive is that they, because of their high skills, manage to make the music theatrical and full of emotions.
One thing that hit me immediately was how very thoroughly everything have been made. The production is clear and very good for a self-financed demo and the artwork and booklet is among the better I’ve seen, what so ever! It’s very nice and fits the music quite good. So, this is all in all a very good piece of a band that hopefully will get the appreciation that they are worth and I’m looking forward to that. “WHEN NEIGHBOUR FIGHT NEIGHBOUR AND CHILD HURT CHILD, FLY, FIND AN OLIVE FOR ME”
