REVIEW: Wolf - Moonlight No Fashion Records, 2001
7.5/10
Wolf - Moonlight - cover art During the summer most people have probably been having a nice time on vacation doing as little as possible but this is not the case with the new Swedish heavy metal promise Wolf. Instead of laying on a sandy beach they have been busy recording their debut album. Before the release of the full album No Fashion has decided to release this single to gain some more attention to the band. Just like most other prominent Swedish bands the man behind the production is none other than Peter Tägtgren and he has done a great job as countless times before. When listening to the music of Wolf you realize the reason why they were chosen as opening act on the Edguy tour in the summer of 2000. Musically this is a very good album with plenty of classic heavy metal riffs. Unfortunately the vocals are rather thin and a little too high-pitched for my taste. This is still a very young band though and I think this will change as time goes on. If you are a fan of classic heavy metal or power metal the German way Wolf is a band you would not want to miss out on because they have a lot of talent. The bass player also edits a fanzine called "The Dweeomer Zine" which I haven't read so far. Included on the single is an mpeg video directed by Jens Jansson from Kinoeye STHLM.
