My, my, how brutal is THIS? This is some insane gore grind, here. Musically, this is your standard grindcore album: sick, tortured vocals of the growled and shrieked kind, breakneck riffs (with the occasional melodic break), drums that I swear are going at least 55,000 MPH and of course, songs that don't go past the 1 minute mark. So, like I said, it's your standard grindcore. Ok Nick, it's grindcore, so this means there's heaps of monotony, right? Why yes, little Jimmy, you're right. When there's grindcore, there's always the looming shadow of monotony ahead. They go together like Peanut butter and jelly, peas and carrots, dirty, rotten corpses and maggots. But this album still finds a way to keep you entertained. This is gore grind, folks. It's never taken seriously. Not by the fans, nor by the band themselves, so needless to say, there are going to be some humorous points. And "Harvesting The Cunt Nectar" is no exception. Hell, just look at the album title! Look at the SONG titles! Just about every song begins and / or ends with a little intro. I'd say 95% of them are fucking hilarious. Extreme monotony and cunt-busting humor aside, if you can weed them out of the wall of brutality, there are some damn fine riffs scattered throughout this disc that are all worth checking out. So, this may be your same old, same old grindcore, with occasional riff brilliance, but the riffs will keep your attention, as will the little funny intros and outros, all of which prevent it from being a forgettable, monotonous mess.
