REVIEW: Jetsurfers - Jetlagged In Jetland Grammofon A/S Electra, 2000
7/10
Jetsurfers - Jetlagged In Jetland - cover art These Norwegian guys mix street rock & roll and alternative country. Think of bands like Georgia Satellites or The Dogs D' Amour and you might get the basic idea. In my opinion the results are far better when they keep it more to the street rock & roll than when they try to mix alternative country elements, because when they rock & roll they really do kick ass. They have also released "Jetsurfers - Saloon E.P. " in June '99 in the Norwegian independent label Coco Pelli Records in a very limited run (750 copies) and the CD-single "Next Of Kin" in November 1999 by MTG-Productions. I have never heard those releases, but I do recommend "Jetlagged in Jetland", their first full-length album to the fans of this style of music. It includes 8 oringinal compositions and cover-versions of Bob Dylan's "One Too Many Mornings" and "Green Green Grass Of Home" (however, I don't know who wrote this song and how the original sounds). Jetsurfers also seem to enjoy life on the road, so who knows, if you live in Norway or decide to go there for holidays you might get to see them play live!
