Though I’ve been mistakenly labeled as an elitist numerous times in the
past, I’ll be the first to say that I’m strongly opposed to elitists
and
everything that they embody. I’m not necessarily a purist, albeit a
little
picky. I like to consider myself an open-minded individual with
distinctive
preferences, mostly because it sounds nicer.
When listening to music, I generally look for superior talent,
originality,
and substance; everything else is insubstantial. I respect and
appreciate
both those who continue to break new ground, and those who have set the
standard and paved the path in the past. I especially appreciate those
who
manage to maintain their integrity while doing so.
What I DON’T like is mass-produced and overrated bullshit with massive
idiot
followings of ANY genre, “myspace bands”, and new age technical
pseudo-grind
garbage that masquerades as actual grindcore (simply because I believe
it
promotes ignorance, not to mention shitty music).
As far as me the person, and not the metal aficionado- I’m optimistic,
very
friendly, and overly sarcastic. I despise ignorance in all of its forms
(including racism and wearing socks with sandals) and I enjoy observing
people and their behaviors (also called stalking, but whatever.) And
though
I may have my opinions of how things work, I’m always up for- and
rather
embrace- a little amicable disagreement. :-)
